[…]And on Sept. 29, in front of Hong Kong government headquarters, a remarkable scene took place. A young protester standing near a riot policeman was attacked, apparently unprovoked, with a bolt of pepper spray across the face and in the eyes. He screamed out “We are unarmed, how can you attack us like that?”
Behind the helmet and face mask, the policeman’s expression could not be seen, but he seemed moved and said “I know, I know.” He beckoned the man over, turned around and retrieved his own water bottle, and proceeded to wash out the man’s stinging eyes. Hong Kong Policemen Apologize
"The police officers that have been called upon to be Hong Kong’s shock troops—firing and tossing tear gas canisters into crowds of protesting students, and soaking them with pepper spray—have come forward recently to express their frustration and regret.
Tens of thousands of students continue to ambulate through Hong Kong’s central business district each night, as police attempt to contain and repel them. The students are protesting recent moves by Beijing to limit Hong Kong’s ability to hold independent elections.
“Once, I felt I was the luckiest person in the world, because I could fulfill two of my childhood dreams at the same time,” wrote Arnold Wai, a member of Hong Kong’s auxiliary police force, on Facebook, on the evening of Sept. 28. “Before, I was very proud when I personally brought criminals to justice,” he said.
“However, I just phoned my superior tonight, quitting this job. I don’t want to be a political tool for someone,” he wrote, in a post on Facebook that was widely shared among Hong Kong Internet users.

Sisters/Brothers/Siblings,

My name is Janit, and I have just been diagnosed with a pretty heavy hitting terminal brain cancer called Grade III Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma. I had neurosurgery to remove the tumor, but it’s not treatable by that alone, and honestly, it doesn’t respond well to other treatments either. The battle is going to be long, hard and exhausting. The average life expectancy is 3 1/2 years. I do not have a good relationship with my family, mostly due to my queerness, and am very scared of having to go home to them for care and living the remaining life I have left in a hellhole. I cannot work and was denied disability, making a lot of things hard to pay for. I am asking you for help. Below is my GoFundMe account where you can donate money to help me with things like rent, food, medical care, and therapy. Anything and everything helps. I am already overwhelmed with the generosity that has been given to me, but the care I need is expensive. I am lost and doing the last thing I can think of, asking the universe to provide and hoping that it does. I am young, scared shitless and begging for your help. If you cannot donate, I would appreciate if you could give this a signal boost. Help in any and all forms is immensely appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Feel free to follow me and watch my story unfold. I love and need friends right now

UPDATE:

I healed very well from my neurosurgery, and have moved on to other types of treatment, mostly chemo and radiation. The chemo has made my body stop producing blood platelets, which you need for blood clotting and whatnot, and I have had to do 2 emergency transfusions in the last 3 days. The chemo has also made my hair fall out, so now I am serving bald headed realness all day. I am updating, frankly, because I am running out of money, my gofundme has lost all steam and am still being put through the ringer by disability. Please friends, find it in your heart to donate or share, based on your ability to do such. Thank you, so much. I will never be able to convey my appreciation for every single person who has helped me along the way. You are all so, so beautiful.

The Never Ending Road.

In Corona, California there once was a road known by most of the older locals as the never ending road. Specifically, the road’s true name was Lester Road.

However, 70 years ago, Lester Road was an unlit road that people claimed became a never ending road when driven at night. The people who made such a drive were never seen or heard from again. The legend became so well-known that people refused to even drive Lester Road during the day.

Perpetuation of the legend convinced local law enforcement to investigate around the 1960’s. Lester Road took a sharp left turn at its end, and there were no guard rails. Beyond the curve lay a canyon, and on the other side of the canyon was another road that lined up so well with Lester Road that when viewed from the correct angle, especially at night, the canyon vanished from sight, and the road seemed to continue on up and over the hill on the other side of the canyon. Upon investigation of the canyon, dozens of cars were found, fallen to their doom, with the decomposing bodies of the victims still strapped to their seats.

Law enforcement tried to cover up their findings. They closed down Lester road, letting the trees grow where the road once stood and letting the bodies remain in their final resting place.
